Kalafina 10th Anniversary Film's Trailer Previews Concerts, Interviews

Documentary film celebrating singing group's 10th anniversary screens in theaters on March 30-April 12

The official website for the Kalafina 10th Anniversary Film ~Yume ga Tsunagu Kagayaki no Harmony~ documentary film began streaming a trailer for the film on Friday. The video shows some clips from Kalafina's concerts and some interview clips.

The film celebrates the singing group Kalafina's 10th anniversary, and it will screen in select theaters in Japan from March 30 to April 12. Shigeru Katō is directing the film.

Composer Yuki Kajiura started the Kalafina music group in 2007 to perform the theme songs for The Garden of Sinners anime films. Kajiura produced, composed, and wrote the lyrics for most of the group's songs. The group started out with four members, with two of the four members — Keiko Kubota and Wakana Ootaki — having previously worked with Kajiura under her FictionJunction project. Maya Toyoshima left the group in 2009.

The group has performed theme songs for such anime as Sound of the Sky, Aldnoah.Zero, Black Butler, Time of Eve, Fate/Zero, Fate/stay night: Unlimited Blade Works, and most recently, Katsugeki! Tōken Ranbu. The group has released 21 singles and six studio albums.

The group performed their 10th anniversary concert at the Budokan on January 23.

Kajiura recently left the Space Craft Produce talent agency, but Kalafina will continue working under Space Craft Produce. Space Craft Produce commented that the group's "performances at our sponsored concerts and the opening of the group's 10th anniversary film are continuing as planned." Discussions are underway for who will produce Kalafina's future songs.

Kajiura noted in a Twitter post on Wednesday that Kalafina's status will end up changing, so she cannot truly say that the group will be the same as before. However, she said she respects the group members and still wants to cheer them on.
