5th Touken Ranbu Stage Play Reveals Additional Cast, Visuals, Tour Dates

Stage play tours on June 2 - July 29 in Tokyo, Kyoto, Fukuoka

Marvelous' official website for the Touken Ranbu series of stage plays revealed more details about the fifth play in the series on Friday, including the title, cast visuals, venues, and dates. The fifth stage play is titled Touken Ranbu: Hiden Yuinome no Hototogisu, and it will run from June 2 to July 29 in Tokyo, Kyoto, and Fukuoka.

The play will again feature 12 of the Touken swords. In addition, Masataka Nakagauchi will play Ashikaga Yoshiteru.

The site revealed six visuals of cast in costume:

Takuma Wada as Kasen Kanesada

Taizō Shiina as Fudou Yukimitsu

Shōta Kawakami as Daihanya Nagamitsu

Takahisa Maeyama as Uguisumaru

Shō Katō as Ookanehira

The venues and tour dates are as follows:

  • Meijiza special performance in Tokyo: June 2 - 6
  • Kyoto Gekijo performance in Kyoto: June 14 - July 1
  • Kyushu Soleil Hall performance in Fukuoka: July 4 - 6
  • Nippon Seinenkan Hall performance in Tokyo: July 19 - 22
  • Tennouzu Galaxy Theatre encore performance in Tokyo: July 25 - 29

Tickets can be purchased through LAWSON. Tickets for the Meijiza performance are 10,800 yen (about US$100) for general admission and 13,000 yen (about US$120) for premium seating. Ticket prices for other theaters are 7,800 yen (about US$72) for general admission and 9,800 yen (about US$91) for premium seating.

Kenichi Suemitsu is again directing the play and writing the script. Teruji Yoshizawa and manzo are composing the music.

The fourth play, Tōken Ranbu: Jo-den Mitsura Boshi Katanagatari, ran from December 15-29 in Tokyo, Osaka, and Fukuoka. The fourth play focused on Yamanbagiri Kunihiro and Heshikiri Hasebe, set in the time before Mikazuki Munechika appeared and around when the Honmaru was completed.

Touken Ranbu Giden - Akatsuki no Dokuganryū, the franchise's third stage play, ran from June to July 2017. The second stage play, Touken Ranbu Kyoden - Moeyuru Honnōji ~ Saien, ran from December 2016 to January 2017. The first stage play, Touken Ranbu Kyoden - Moeyuru Honnōji, ran in May 2016.

The franchise also has a separate series of stage musicals, the first of which ran from May to June 2016. The fifth and most recent musical, Touken Ranbu - Musubi no Hibiki, Hajimari no Ne (Touken Ranbu - The Resonance of Endings, The Sound of Beginnings), is running in Tokyo until May 6 after having previous runs in Tokyo and Osaka starting in March.
