Gakuen Babysitters Anime Gets OVA in September

Story to center on Ryūichi's break from babysitting during testing

The Twitter account for the television anime adaptation of Hari Tokeino's Gakuen Babysitters manga revealed on Saturday that a seventh Blu-ray Disc and DVD release that will include an original video anime (OVA). The release will include the "Sono 13" OVA and an event video, and it is slated to ship on September 26.

In the OVA's story from the manga's ninth compiled book volume, Ryūichi takes a break from the babysitter club in order to study for tests. Imitating Ryūichi as he studies, Kotarō and friends practice writing. Ryūichi wants to thank Saikawa, who helped him out during testing, and he nonchalantly tries to figure out what Saikawa likes. Ryūichi makes curry for the chairwoman and Saikawa.

The OVA also includes a special "Snow White" segment based on a story from the manga's sixth volume. The chairwoman is the Queen, and Inomata is trapped in a castle doing nothing but studying as Snow White. Ryūichi is the huntsman who takes her to the outside. The babies are the seven dwarfs, and they run into Usaida in the forest.

The anime's official website revealed that the OVA will have an advance screening at the "Gakuen Babkysitters Morinomiya Gakuen-sai" event, which will be held at the TFT Hall 1000 venue in Tokyo on August 26. The anime's main cast will attend, and the event will also include a talk show, games, and line readings.

The anime's seventh Blu-ray Disc and DVD release will also include a video of the afternoon session of the "Gakuen Babysitters Cast Event in Sanrio Puroland," which was held was held in the Sanrio Puroland theme park in Tokyo on March 4. Voice actors Kōtarō Nishiyama (voice of Ryūichi Kashima) and Yuichiro Umehara (voice of Hayato Kamitani) appeared with Sanrio characters Cinnamoroll, Pompompurin, and Hello Kitty. Additionally, the release will include a digest video of the evening session.

The home video release will bundle a "Kaguya-hime" fairy tale-themed drama CD with cast comments. Bonus items also include a sheet with a special illustration drawn by Tokeino.

The anime's official website currently does not list the release, but retailer Amazon is listing the release with two discs and a 104-minute runtime. The anime's sixth Blu-ray Disc and DVD release, which will include the anime's 11th and 12th and final episodes, will ship on August 28.

The anime premiered on January 7, and Crunchyroll streamed the series as it aired.
