Near Life-Size Goku Shows Paper Can Be Powerful

posted on by Lynzee Loveridge

Twitter user @saryo_san shares his multiple hobbies via social media. He likes airsoft guns and mobile gaming and often uploads pictures of his collection. On Sunday, saryo_san shared something different from his usual posts. His uncle created an almost life-size replica of Goku out of paper.

Papercraft art can be incredibly detailed. Hobbyists have created intricate miniature replicas of the house from My Neighbor Totoro, built tanks from Girls und Panzer, and Nendoroid-size figures of their favorite anime characters. Sanryo_san's images show how the creator took papercraft to Super Saiyan heights.

In follow-up Tweets, saryo_san wrote that his uncle used free-to-download materials to create Goku. Specifically, Goku was created from a pattern from PaperJuke. The site hosts a free-to-download HD papercraft model of battle-damaged SSJ Goku. The pattern itself is 26 pages.

His uncle's creation is truly amazing. Perhaps we'll see more giant paper statues from him in the future.
