Japanese Band Bump of Chicken Belts Out the Weather for 1 Week

posted on by Lynzee Loveridge

The band BUMP OF CHICKEN are delivering the weather forecast in Tokyo this week on 38 JFN radio stations. The four band members will be on bright and early at 6 a.m. to deliver the "Chronos Ohayō! Bump Weather Forecast." The group will discuss the day's weather, their new single "Hanashi ga Shitai yo" (I Want to Talk), seasonal foods they want to eat, what books they're reading, and other topics.

BUMP OF CHICKEN's new song was released digitally on Monday and will be included on the band's upcoming three-track single on November 14. The track is the theme song for the Okuotoko (Million Dollar Man) live-action film set for release on October 19.

The three-track single includes "Hanashi ga Shitai yo" and two additional tracks: "Sirius" and "Spica." Both songs served as the opening and ending theme song for Shōji Kawamori's Last Hope anime series. The band also performed the opening theme song "Gekkō" (Moonbow) for this season's Karakuri Circus television anime. The group has a history of collaborating with anime series including Tales of the Abyss, Blood Blockade Battlefront, March comes in like a lion, and Granblue Fantasy.
