Capture the Female Titan in New Attack on Titan VR Game

Or: prove yourself to Captain Tsubasa on the virtual soccer field

Sony and arcade game company Taito are teaming up for two new virtual reality experiences. One promises to let you score in the big game with Captain Tsubasa while the other will have you running for your life from the Female Titan.

The Ginza Sony Park arcade in Tokyo and the Space Invaders Room in Osaka will test out the two new attractions for one week beginning on October 18 in Osaka and October 19 in Tokyo. VR Attack on Titan: The Human Race puts players on horseback-like seats while donning VR gear and a Survey Corps' cape. During the experience, players attempt to capture the Female Titan.

VR Captain Tsubasa: Moero Striker puts players on a miniature soccer field with a real (tethered) ball. Players try to outmaneuver characters from the popular anime and manga series, including Kojirō Hyūga and Tsubasa himself. The game uses proprietary sensing technology to recreate a Captain Tsubasa worthy match. Players take on the role of the "Rumored Striker" and faces characters from the show as a kind of "tryout" for the team. Players get a maximum of five shots per level to score at least three goals and can recreate super moves like Skylab Hurricane.

The attraction appeared at Captain Tsubasa Exhibition at Tokyo's underground Yaesu Shopping Mall in August, but new improvements to the game were made for the test version this month. The test version will only have one level to try.
