Funimation's Fullmetal Alchemist: The Sacred Star of Milos Anime Film License Expires on November 21

posted on by Karen Ressler

FUNimation Entertainment announced on Tuesday that its license for the Fullmetal Alchemist: The Sacred Star of Milos anime film will expire on November 21. The company's home video release will go out of print.

The film's original story takes place during episode 20 of Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood and during chapter 11 in Hiromu Arakawa's original manga. The film debuted in Japan in 2011, and Funimation released the film on Blu-ray Disc and DVD in 2012.

Funimation's license for the 2009 Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood anime expired in March 2016, and Aniplex of America has scheduled its rerelease for November 20. Funimation also held the licenses for the 2003 Fullmetal Alchemist television anime and the Fullmetal Alchemist: The Movie - Conqueror of Shamballa film before they expired in July 2016.
