1979 Cyborg 009 Theme Song Artist Ken Narita Passes Away

The official Twitter account for singer Ken Narita announced on Tuesday that Narita had passed away on the morning of Tuesday, November 13 just after 7:00 a.m. due to pneumonia. He was 73. His relatives will hold a private funeral.
Narita is perhaps best known for singing the opening theme song "Ta ga Tame ni" and other songs for the 1979 Cyborg 009 anime, as well as the opening and ending theme songs (and other songs) for the 1980 tokusatsu series Denshi Sentai Denziman. Narita debuted in 1967 as the vocalist of the band The Beavers, and then embarked on a solo career after the band's breakup in 1969. He went on hiatus from his singing career in 1981, but returned to perform at the Anime Japan Festival event in 2007. He released a catalog album in the same year.
