Couple Who Met via Pokémon GO Receive Ultimate Wedding Video

The only thing Twitter user @shibuya319 might be more serious about than Pokémon GO is his love for his wife, "Rii-san". The two met doing what they love best: attempting to catch Pokémon. Their fated meeting was the first page in a heartwarming love story. The couple met on August 27, 2016 while trying to catch a Lapras. They tied the knot two years later in a Pokémon-filled ceremony.
A college friend decided to honor the couple's story by creating an adorable wedding video in the style of the original Pokémon video game series. It recounts the day spent trying to catch a Lapras and ends with the ceremony itself with the series' trainers sitting in the pews.

The wedding also included a message from Kento Suga, the lead for Niantic's Pokémon GO global marketing team.
Other couples have already had Pokémon-themed weddings. For Trainers who want to say "I choose you" with special jewelry, U-Treasure has been offering Pokémon-inspired engagement rings and wedding bands since at least 2016.
