Detective Conan Gets A Real-Life Treasure Hunting Event

posted on by Lynzee Loveridge

Gōshō Aoyama's Detective Conan, Magic Kaito, and Yaiba characters need your help to track down treasures in Tottori Prefecture, Japan. Three separate events taking place in the prefecture each have their own story incorporating one of Aoyama's characters. Participants are given coded treasure maps that take them to local tourist attractions. Winners get real prizes after solving the mysteries, including prize packs delivered by Conan himself, overnight stays, and even local eats.

The Detective Conan treasure hunt in western Tottori sends players on a quest to find the Adamantium Chain and Kagami's Stake. The Magic Kaito event in central Tattori sends treasure hunters on a quest to find the hidden Emerald Drop and Sapphire Rain, and eastern Tottori's Yaiba treasure hunt has two different samurai-themed treasures for hunters to find.

The Tottori Prefecture is Aoyama's birthplace and was featured in a number of his works. Attendees can join the events for free from July 19 to September 23.
