Shino Shimoji, Yu Wakui, Yui Ishikawa Star in New Aikatsu TV Anime

The official website for the Aikatsu! television anime series announced that Shino Shimoji, Yū Wakui, and Yui Ishikawa will join the cast. The three voice actresses will play new junior idols at the Starlight Academy, Akari Ōzora, Sumire Hikami, and Hinaki Shinjō, respectively. Sumire Morohoshi is returning as the protagonist, Ichigo Hoshimiya. The new series will debut in October.
Pictured left to right: Sumire Hikami is a quiet and "cool" type who likes fortune-telling, Akari Ōzora is a "cute" type who admires Ichigo and is klutzy but cheerful and positive, and Hinaki Shinjō is a "pop" type and a fashionable girl who knows the Aikatsu! cards well. Their favorite brands are "Loli Gothic," "Dreamy Crown," and "Vivid Kiss," respectively.
Bandai announced the original idol-themed card game and its anime adaptation in 2012. Sunrise animated the first series, and is also animating the second series, which is currently airing on TV Tokyo. The story revolves around Ichigo, who was just a normal middle school student until she suddenly got involved in the world of idols.
The series franchise is also getting an anime film on December 13.
