Yūma Uchida as Yūma Yūsaka, the blood-related younger brother of China Kōsaka and a second-year student at Seiho Academy's middle school section. He is such a young genius builder that he has already won a model-building tournament, as well as a an artistic Gunpla contest.

Yui Makino as Fumina Hoshino, a third-year student at Seiho Academy's middle school section, and the president of the Gunpla Battle Club. She loves Gunpla from the bottom of her heart, and begins rushing around to collect members in order to participate in the middle school section of the national tournament.

Aya Endō as Mirai Kamiki, a girl who is a second-year student at Seiho Academy's high school section, and Sekai's older sister. She is attractive and works as a reader model for a fashion magazine. She watches over her younger brother who is completely absorbed in Gunpla battles.

The story takes place seven years after Sei Iori and Reiji won the seventh Gunpla Battle World Tournament. Since then, the rules of Gunpla have been renewed, and the popularity of the sport becomes even more popular. However, one academy is left behind in this change, and that was Seiho Academy, which Sei Iori once attended. The only member of the Gunpla Battle club remaining is Fumina Hoshino, and her alone. In the state the club is in, she is not even able to participate in the preliminaries for Japan's national Gunpla tournament.

In front of her, a single transfer student named Sekai Kamiki appears, a boy who has been training with his master in martial arts. Along with him and the young Gunpla builder Yūma Yūsaka, Fumina forms a new team.

The Gundam Build Fighters anime premiered last October, and Sunrise streamed the first series in the United States and Canada as it aired in Japan.
