German Manuel Ramirez Piña Wins at the Yu-Gi-Oh! Championship Series in Peru

El Segundo, CA (September 16, 2014) – After weeks of preparation, German Manuel Ramirez Piňa, armed with a magnificent strategy and first-rate Deck, had the successful combination to best his competition at the Yu-Gi-Oh! CHAMPIONSHIP SERIES (YCS) held at Centro de Convenciones Atlantic City in Lima. Duelists from all over Latin America made the journey to participate in Konami Digital Entertainment Inc.'s (KONAMI) premier-level Yu-Gi-Oh! TRADING CARD GAME (TCG) event.

As Duelists came geared-up with their assembled Decks on Saturday morning for Round One, Ramirez Piňa, from Lima, Peru and Dragon Duel Champion Mijail Stephano Flores Barbosa, also from Lima, Peru, assessed their Decks and prepared for an intense tournament ahead of them.

With the Preliminary Rounds of Saturday behind them, both Ramirez Piňa and Alexander Gilbert were set for Sunday's Duels and their approaches proved worthwhile as they stepped up for the final match. In Sunday's Final Round, Ramirez Piňa successfully played his drafted Deck against Gilbert, from Fullerton, California's drafted Deck, who was unable to counter. In the end, Ramirez Piňa's combination of adept Dueling dexterity and drafting skill earned him the title of YCS Lima Champion.

Meanwhile, in the Dragon Duel, an event for Duelists born in 2002 or later, Flores Barbosa faced Italo Wilder Romero Ocola in a thrilling match, and with his Shadoll Deck, played with adroit mastery to overcome his opponent. The final pairing had the best Duelists in a grueling match to determine the overall YCS Dragon Duel Champion.

In addition to the title of Champion, the winner of the main event also earned an all-new amazing set of prizes that included an Ultra Rare Ascension Sky Dragon YCS Prize Card, a fresh new exclusive YCS Top Cut Mat, an invitation to their 2015 World Championship Qualifier tournament and much more!
