CyberConnect2's Matsuyama: If Final Fantasy VII G-Bike Is a Hit, Let's Make a FF7 Remake

Square Enix held a "Final Fantasy VII G-Bike & Final Fantasy World+Wide Words Creator Talk Event" at Tokyo Game Show 2014 to discuss these two upcoming smartphone game apps. 38 minutes into the talk, CyberConnect2 President and CEO Hiroshi Matsuyama asked Square Enix producer Shinji Hashimoto if he is interested in a remake of Final Fantasy VII. Hashimoto replied that for now, he is not yet interested, since he is focused on Final Fantasy VII G-Bike first. Matsuyama interjected, "Well, if G-Bike is released and becomes a hit, let's make a Final Fantasy VII [remake]."

Hashimoto replied, "OK. First, Matsuyama holds the key."
