Nijicon, Inc. Announces First LGBTQ Comic Book Convention to be Held in the Philadelphia Area

BLUE BELL, PA – October 1, 2014
Nijicon(meaning "rainbow convention") is a weekend-long event taking place October 18-19, 2014 that is designed to highlight the increasing and driving presence of the LGBTQ community in comics, books, movies and television. The event will be located in King of Prussia, PA(just outside Philadelphia) and will feature special guests, fan-hosted panels, vendors, artists, and screenings of popular LGBT movies, television shows, and anime(Japanese animation). Nijicon is also proudly hosting a charity raffle in which all proceeds will be donated to ME4PA(Marriage Equality for PA) and other charities. All attendees will also be getting a free graphic novel, The Dark Earth by X. Aratare, courtesy of RaytheReign.com along with other gifts just for attending this convention.

Nijicon was created in the belief that this convention could be an event that the geek community would greatly benefit from. No matter what an individual's race, religion, or sexuality they are, all geeks enjoy the awesomeness that is comic books, cartoons, manga, and anime and should have the opportunity to display that love in a safe environment. Nijicon is the first convention of its kind to take place in the North Eastern region of the United States. And with such cities like Philadelphia, New York, Washington D.C., and Boston(just to name a few) that proudly host such diverse populations, Nijicon is a long time coming.
