Someday's Dreamer's Kumichi Yoshizuki to End Magi no Okurimono Manga

posted on by Lynzee Loveridge
"Pure love story" about couple divided by death debuted earlier this year

Manga artist Kumichi Yoshizuki announced via Twitter on Tuesday that he will end his Magi no Okurimono (The Gift of the Magi) manga in the next issue of Shueisha's Grand Jump Premium magazine. The January issue of the magazine will ship on December 24. The November issue containing the penultimate chapter shipped on Wednesday.

Yoshizuki launched the "pure love story" in the magazine earlier this year. The story revolves around Daichi, a 24-year-old man whose girlfriend has died, and Akari, his girlfriend who is now in heaven. Akari wants Daichi to forget her, but Daichi doesn't want to forget.

Yoshiyuki ended his Colomb Fille manga in Kodansha's Bessatsu Shōnen Magazine last year. He also ended his Kimi to Boku no Ashiato ~Time Travel Kasuga Kenkyūsho~ (Your and My Footprints: The Time Travel Kasuga Laboratory) time-traveling romance series in Shueisha's Oh Super Jump seinen magazine in 2012.

Tokyopop published the Someday's Dreamers magical slice-of-life manga in North America. The series inspired two television anime, two spinoff manga, and a live-action film. Sentai Filmworks released both anime series on home video in North America.
