Anime film to premiere in Japanese theaters on January 15

The January issue of Shonengahosha's Young King Ours magazine is announcing on Saturday that voice actress M.A.O (Gonna be the Twin-Tail!!, Brynhildr in the Darkness) will join the Aoki Hagane no Arpeggio: Ars Nova DC film cast as Hiei.

The series of film projects will reunite the cast and staff from last fall's television anime series. Seiji Kishi will direct at SANZIGEN Animation Studio, and Makoto Uezu will oversee the scripts. Masato Kōda is once again composing the music. The voice actress group Trident will perform the opening theme, "Blue Snow" and nano will perform the ending theme, "Rock on."

The film will premiere in Japanese theaters on January 15, 2015.

In Ark Performance's original science-fiction naval manga, humanity lost much of its developed land due to global warming in the first half of the 21st century. Then, a "Fleet of Fog" loaded with super weapons suddenly appears all over the world. Without the ability to withstand this fleet, humanity was defeated and could no longer travel the seas. 17 years after the devastating naval war, Gunzō Chihaya and his crewmates somehow commandeer a "Fleet of Fog" submarine named I-401. Together with Iona (I-401's "mental model" or incarnation in humanoid form), they take on the "Fleet of Fog."

Young King Ours also revealed the manga's 10th volume will bundle a "radio CD" with an original mini drama on December 26.

The television anime reaired this year with 12 new "Kiri-Kumas" (literally, "Fog-Bears") shorts by same main staff who worked on both the television anime and the upcoming movies.
