Kobayashi ga Kawai Sugite Tsurai!! Manga Gets 3DS Game (Updated)

"Petite love adventure" game with original scenario, new character to ship this year

This year's seventh issue of Shogakukan's Sho-Comi magazine will reveal on Thursday that Gō Ikeyamada's Kobayashi ga Kawai Sugite Tsurai!! (Kobayashi Is So Cute That It's Painful!) manga is getting a Nintendo 3DS game. The "passionate love adventure" and "petit love adventure" game will ship in Japan this year.

Ikeyamada is supervising the game's story and characters, and the game will feature original scenarios for Halloween, Christmas, and Valentine's Day. The game will also feature an original character designed by Ikeyamada who has a black eye patch.

The manga's story revolves around twin brother and sister Mitsuru and Megumu Kobayashi who switch places and attend the other sibling's school. Things get strange when Megumu realizes that the school that her popular brother Mitsuru had been going to was in fact a school for delinquents. When attacked by a group of bullies, she meets a mysterious boy with an eye patch.

Ikeyamada began the manga in Shogakugan's Sho-Comi magazine in August 2012. Shogakugan released the 10th compiled volume of the manga on January 26. Ikeyamada revealed in the 10th volume that the manga was entering its final arc with the 11th volume.

Viz Media revealed last October that it had licensed the series for North America under the title So Cute It Hurts!!. The company plans to release the first volume in June.

The manga received an original DVD bundled with the third volume of the manga in July 2013, and a second DVD shipped with the sixth volume of the manga in March 2014.

The creator's Suki Desu Suzuki-kun!! manga also had an original anime DVD bundled with the December 2009 issue of the Sho-Comi magazine. Her Moe Kare manga's first installment was also adapted into a VOMIC.

Update: Added information about Viz Media's license. Thanks, Ali07.
