Dog Days Sugar Manga Ends

posted on by Rafael Antonio Pineda
Spinoff manga of fantasy action franchise launched last October

The May issue of Kadokawa's Comptiq Ace magazine published the final chapter of Asuka Kanan's Dog Days Sugar manga on Thursday.

The manga spinoff of the Dog Days television anime series launched in Comptiq Ace last October. Kadokawa will publish the manga's first and only compiled volume on April 25.

Takuya Fujima launched an earlier manga adaptation of Dog Days in May 2011 in the Kadokawa Comics Ace magazine. The manga was compiled into a single volume.

In the original story, Princess Millhiore of the Biscotti Republic decides to summon a brave warrior from an alternate world to defend her country from the neighboring fiefdom of Galette. The "brave warrior" turns out to be a boy named Shinku from modern-day Japan.

The Dog Days franchise began with the 2011 Dog Days TV anime, which spawned second and third seasons. (The third season just ended late Saturday evening or early Sunday morning.) Sunday Mazaki Tsuzuki is credited as the original creator of the franchise.

Crunchyroll streamed the first and second seasons as they aired in Japan, and is currently streaming the third season in some Asian countries.
