Take A Video Tour of Bandai's Gunpla Factory

posted on by Lynzee Loveridge

Gunpla, a pormanteau of Gundam plastic, are intricate models kits loved by fans the world over. Where does the magic happen? The parts are designed, created, assembled, and shipped out from Bandai's Gunpla factory at the Bandai Hobby Center in Shizuoka, Japan. The official Gundam portal is letting enthusiasts take a look inside the factory in a new video. Let's check it out!

The Hobby Center opened in 1980 and has since shipped 425 million Gundam over the last 25 years. It's pretty impressive for a factory that operates largely off of solar power and rainwater purification. The workers also wear pretty snazzy uniforms inspired by the Earth Federation uniforms from the original Gundam.

You can get more Gunpla in the Gundam Build Fighters series or take a look at a serious example of Gunpla dedication with this 3D figure turned 2D.
