Life-Size Patlabor Promotes Traffic Safety Outside Himeji Castle

posted on by Lynzee Loveridge

A recent stop for the life-size Patlabor AV-98 Ingram is the beautiful Himeji Castle in Hyōgo Prefecture. The Ingram has made it's rounds from the Tokyo Marathon, baseball games to shopping malls. On Wednesday two Ingrams made a stop outside the castle at the request of local authorities to promote a traffic safety campaign.

The Ingram is a law enforcement robot after all, so what better way to remind bicyclists and drivers to look out for one another? The set-up in the park next to the White Egret Castle also doubled as a celebration for its recent reopening after undergoing a series of renovations.

After guarding the castle, the Ingram headed to the next destination: The Japan Self-Defense Forces' Tsuiki Air Field.

It's next stop is Shinjuku City next week for a collaboration with the metro police there.
