Back-On's "Dear Me" Track Discusses Teeda's Struggle with Childhood Bullying

posted on by Lynzee Loveridge

The four-member band Back-On has lent their musical chops to anime like Eyeshield 21, Air Gear, Gundam Build Fighters and Fairy Tail, but their latest track "Dear Me" focuses on one member's personal struggles. MC Teeda (third from the left) wrote the track about his experiences growing up with pediatric atopic dermatitis, a chronic skin condition similar to eczema that can appear dry and scaly.

Teeda notes in the video's description that he was bulled as a child because of his condition and often wondered why he was born. He even recalls his mother tearfully holding him and apologizing for giving him such a body. Teeda decided from then on that he would fight bullying and live with courage. The song "Dear Me," was created by Back-On to deliver a message of hope to people who feel the way Teeda once did.
