The official website for the Yamada-kun and the Seven Witches television anime series revealed the voice cast on Sunday for the Yankee-kun to Megane-chan (Yankee-kun and Megane-chan) crossover anime short.

The crossover anime will star Yuuki Ono as Daichi Shinagawa, Yōko Hikasa as Hana Adachi, Takuma Terashima as Gaku Izumi, Tomoaki Maeno as Seiya Chiba, and Mika Kikuchi as Rinka Himeji. The short will be the first anime adaptation of the Yankee-kun to Megane-chan manga.

Miki Yoshikawa, the original manga creator for both franchises, is drawing the collaborative manga that is the basis for the anime. Both the manga and anime will ship with the first DVD and Blu-ray Disc box sets containing episodes 1-6 of the Yamada-kun and the Seven Witches television anime series. The boxsets will ship on August 26.

Kodansha Comics publishes the Yamada-kun and the Seven Witches manga in North America and describes the story:

Class troublemaker Ryu Yamada is already having a bad day when he stumbles down a staircase along with star student Urara Shiraishi. When he wakes up, he realizes they have switched bodies - and that Ryu has the power to trade places with anyone just by kissing them! After figuring out the workings behind this new and amazing ability, Ryu and Urara take full advantage of the situation to improve their lives. But with such an oddly amazing power, just how long will Ryu and Urara be able to keep their secret under wraps?

Yoshikawa launched the Yamada-kun and the Seven Witches manga in 2012 and it inspired a live-action television series in 2013. Crunchyroll is streaming the ongoing television anime as it airs in Japan.

In the 211-chapter Yankee-kun to Megane-chan manga, the eyeglasses-wearing, overachieving class representative Hana "Megane-chan" Adachi goes all out to drag the delinquent Daichi "Yankee-kun" Shinagawa into their high school's social circles and activities. Daichi learns that Hana was secretly a former delinquent herself, and that is why she tries so hard to reform Daichi.

Yoshikawa launched the Yankee-kun to Megane-chan manga in October of 2006 and ended it in May 2011. The manga inspired a live-action television series with Hiroki Narimiya (Gokusen, Akihabara @ DEEP, NANA) as Daichi and Riisa Naka (The Girl Who Leapt Through Time, Kami no Shizuku) as Hana. The television series ran from April to June of 2010.

The two manga series already inspired a one-shot crossover manga in 2013. Yankee-kun to Megane-chan's Daichi appeared in an episode of the Yamada-kun and the Seven Witches television anime with Ono's voice.

The first Yamada-kun and the Seven Witches Blu-ray and DVD box sets will also include a form for early tickets sales to a November 15 event with the cast, a random drawing entry for one of 777 sketches by Yoshikawa, six postcards with ending card illustrations, and the clean opening and ending animation sequences.
