Tekken 7 Fighting Game Adds Kazumi to Roster

Hachijō-style karate user will be playable in arcades next Tuesday

The official website for Bandai Namco Entertainment's Tekken 7 arcade fighting game revealed on Friday that the game will add Kazumi Mishima as a playable character next Tuesday.

The website describes Kazumi as using Hachijō-style karate. She also summons a tiger in many of her attacks.

Although Kazumi has been mentioned before in the Tekken franchise's story, this is the first time she has been made a playable character. She also features as the game's final boss. Yumi Hara voices the character.

Previously announced new characters include Lucky Chloe, Shaheen, Claudio, Katarina, Josie Rizal, Gigas, Yoshimitsu, and Jack-7. Returning characters include: Jin, Devil Jin, Kazuya, Lars, Lili, Xiaoyu, Paul, Steve, Hwoarang, Dragunov, Heihachi, Asuka, Alisa, Feng, Marshall Law, Leo, King, and Bryan.

Tekken 7 utilizes Unreal Engine 4, and the new "Power Crash" and "Rage Arts" game systems. "Power Crash" allows a counter attack in the middle of an opponent's attack. "Rage Arts" is a special power crash that can be invoked while in rage mode.

The arcade version ran various location tests last year in Japan. Bandai Namco Entertainment launched the game in Japanese arcades on March 18.
