Earth Defense Force 2 Heads to N. America on PS Vita

Xseed Games announced on Friday that it will offer the first release of the Earth Defense Force 2 game in the Western hemisphere this Fall. Earth Defense Force 2: Invaders From Planet Space (Earth Defense Forces 2 Portable V2 in Japan) will be available in physical and digital formats on the PS Vita in North America.
The game is a port of the Earth Defense Forces 2 Portable (Chikyū Bōeigun 2 Portable) PSP game, which is itself a port of The Chikyū Bōeigun 2 (Earth Defense Forces 2 or Global Defence Force in Europe) PlayStation 2 game. The PS Vita version shipped in Japan on December 11.

In Earth Defense Force 2: Invaders From Planet Space, players will take the role of one of three distinct military classes and fend off hordes of invading giant insects from a third-person perspective by way of conventional weaponry, armored vehicles, jetpacks, air strikes, trip mines, energy weapons, and more.
Earth Defense Force 2: Invaders From Planet Space adds the Air Raider class from Earth Defense Force 2025 (Earth Defense Force 4) as a playable character. The original developers at Sandlot also added up to four-player online co-op and a new English dub.
