La Corda d'Oro Blue Sky Anime Gets Stage Play

Sengoku Musou stage play's Kōtarō Yoshitani to direct September 4-13 play

The official website for the television anime La Corda d'Oro Blue Sky announced on Friday that the series will receive a stage play adaptation. The play will run in Tokyo's Zenrōsai Hall Space Zero theater from September 4 to 13.

Kōtarō Yoshitani (Sengoku Musou, Amnesia, Bakumatsu Rock stage plays, Alice in the Country of Hearts musical) is directing and writing the script.

The website also announced that the anime event "Kin-iro no Corda Blue♪Sky Zenkoku Gakusei Ongaku Concours" (tentative title; La Corda d'Oro Blue Sky National Student Music Contest) will be held at Tokyo's Toyosu PIT venue on October 25.

The La Corda d'Oro Blue Sky anime adapts KOEI Tecmo Games' Kin-iro no Corda 3 (La Corda D'Oro 3) dating simulation game. The game's story follows a girl named Kanade and her relationships with the orchestra members and other boys at her school.

The game franchise already inspired a television anime series in 2006, and a television special sequel, La Corda D'Oro ~secondo passo~, aired in spring of 2009. Sentai Filmworks licensed and released the series on DVD in North America, and Crunchyroll streamed both anime. Kure also adapted the first Kin-iro no Corda game into a manga, and Viz Media published the 17th and final volume of the original La Corda D'Oro manga in North America in 2013.

The anime series premiered in Japan in 2014. Crunchyroll streamed the anime as it aired in Japan.
