2016 PS Vita game continues story from La Corda D'Oro 3 game with same characters

The official website of KOEI Tecmo Games' upcoming La Corda D'oro 4 dating simulation game began streaming a teaser promotional video for the game on Monday. The video previews some of the scenes from the game, and confirms its 2016 release date.

Text: Are you going to end it here?
Narrator: A summer where you clashed with your own music, and aimed for the top with your friends.
Narrator: A story after that summer!
Narrator: It's a cold season, so the distance between you will get closer.
Narrator: Group the members freely, and open the Silvester Concert with the best ensemble!
Narrator and Text: La Corda D'oro 4, out in 2016.
Narrator: Accepting design proposals for fall and winter clothes! The official website will open on July 27.

KOEI Tecmo Games unveiled the game along with the video during the "Neo Romance Festa: La Corda d'Oro Featuring Jinnan High School Op. 2" event last Saturday. The game will continue the story from the previous La Corda d'Oro 3 game, and will feature same cast and characters:

  • Jun Fukuyama as Kyōya Kisaragi
  • Katsuyuki Konishi as Ritsu Kisaragi
  • Yuya Uchida as Daichi Sakaki
  • Kaori Mizuhashi as Haruto Mizushima
  • Kentarou Itou as Yukihiro Yagisawa
  • Masakazu Morita as Shiro Hozumi
  • Daisuke Kishio as Arata Mizushima
  • Kishô Taniyama as Chiaki Tōgane
  • Hideo Ishikawa as Hōsei Toki
  • Satoshi Hino as Leiji Myoga
  • Mamoru Miyano as Sei Amamiya
  • Yuki Masuda as Sōsuke Nanami

Yuki Kure drew the original character designs, while Kazuo Funaki designed the mini-versions of the characters. KOEI Tecmo Games will release the game in 2016 on the PlayStation Vita.

La Corda D'oro 3's story follows a girl named Kanade and her relationships with the orchestra members and other boys at her school. The game inspired the La Corda d'Oro Blue Sky anime. Crunchyroll streamed the anime as it aired in Japan last spring. Sentai Filmworks announced earlier this month that it has licensed the anime and plans to release the series digitally and on home video.

La Corda D'oro 3 is also inspiring a stage play adaptation, which will run in Tokyo's Zenrōsai Hall Space Zero theater from September 4 to 13. The stage play's staff unveiled the main cast in costume last Saturday.

The game franchise also inspired a television anime series in 2006, and a television special sequel, La Corda D'Oro ~secondo passo~, aired in spring of 2009. Sentai Filmworks also licensed and released the first series. Viz published Yuki Kure's first La Corda D'Oro manga series in North America.
