Shonen Magazine Edge to Launch New Series by Sasameke's Gotsubo

The official website for Kodansha's upcoming manga magazine Shōnen Magazine Edge revealed on Thursday that it will launch Ryuji Gotsubo's (Sasameke) Aramitama manga (pictured at right) and Gumi Amashi's (Hell's Kitchen) B no Shokutaku (B's Dining Table) manga (pictured in gallery below) in the magazine's inaugural issue on September 17.

Gotsubo's fantasy battle manga Aramitama will revolve around a lazy man and a determined female high school student. Amashi's dark fantasy manga B no Shokutaku will center on the world's most-feared demon and the butler/cook who serves him.

Yen Press released Gotsubo's five-volume series Sasameke in North America in two omnibus volumes in 2010-2011.

Shōnen Magazine Edge will also serialize LovePlus character designer Tarō Minoboshi's (formerly Mino☆Tarō) Seifuku Robin Son (Uniform Robin Song) manga, Hiroyuki Takei's (Shaman King, Ultimo) new manga Nekogahara, as well as Yasuyuki Torikai's Shinyaku Märchen manga adapting Sound Horizon's Märchen story album. The magazine will ship on the 17th of every month, and Kodansha will also publish a digital version simultaneously with the print version.

Shōnen Magazine Edge's name comes from the fact that Kodansha is aiming to publish works "at the extreme exterior of the 'Magazine' group." Fumio Osano, Kodansha's editor for Naoko Takeuchi's Sailor Moon and Codename: Sailor V manga, will serve as editor-in-chief of Shōnen Magazine Edge.
