Studio Deen Posts Animated Music Video for Waanabi.jk Manga

posted on by Crystalyn Hodgkins

Studio DEEN posted an animated music video on Friday for its four-panel manga Waanabi.jk. The animation studio posted the video to commemorate the announcement of a third work based on the manga. The music video was the first adaptation project.

The project's concept was created by Tomoya Takahashi (Dennō Coil assistant director), who also directed and produced the music video. "Super animator" Tetsuya Takeuchi (Yomigaeru Sora - RESCUE WINGS -, Yuri Seijin Naoko-san) designed the characters and served as chief animation director. Nako Eguchi and Lapis Aoki sang the music video's song "I Wanna Be."

The studio had posted a video for a promo anime in July 2013, before it released the full promo video at Comiket in August 2013.

The weekly slice-of-life web manga by Kenichi Kuroi (Zenbu Eroi Sensha.) centers around the dreams and aspirations of four third-year girls at a private girls' high school:

Moraru Takatsuki (voiced by Shiori Mikami) who dreams of becoming a charismatic idol

Yumi Torii (Haruka Terui) whose future path is still up in the air

Ami Yanagisawa (Sora Tokui) who dreams of travelling the world as freelance photographer

Mutsu Sasanaka (Aina Kusuda) who dreams of landing a job at a famous publicly listed corporation after college

Studio DEEN has also sold a drama CD by Katsuhiko Takayama (Sasami-san@Ganbaranai, The Future Diary, Dusk maiden of Amnesia) for the manga, and it has also created a "picture drama" DVD for the manga.
