posted on by Egan Loo
Winter of Rebirth finale to open January 23 with director Tomohisa Taguchi

The official website for the Persona 3 film series updated at midnight on Sunday, and it unveiled the newest key visual and advance ticket details for Persona 3 the Movie #4 Winter of Rebirth. It also announced a finale event after the last film opens in Japan, and it detailed the Blu-ray Disc and DVD releases for the third film.

The last film will open in Japanese theaters on January 23, 2016. The poster and flyers with the new visual will start appearing in participating theaters on September 5. The tagline on the poster reads, "The Dark Hour, ends…."

Also on September 5, participating theaters throughout Japan will begin selling the advance tickets for 1,500 yen (about $12) each. The advance tickets will come with a bonus special 2016 desktop calendar featuring the key visuals presented so far.

A finale event will be held at Tokyo's Shinagawa Stella Hotel on March 5, 2016. Akira Ishida, Megumi Toyoguchi, Megumi Ogata, and others will appear at the event.

The third film, Persona 3 the Movie #3 Falling Down, will go on sale on Blu-ray Disc and DVD on January 20. The limited complete pressing will bundle a soundtrack CD, a box with exclusive art, 10 "super P2 seals," three illustration cards (with key visuals from the third film), and other goods. People who buy all the films on Blu-ray or DVD at select retailers will receive a box for the entire series with an exclusive illustration by franchise veteran Shigenori Soejima:

The newest trailer for the last film debuted last month:

Yukari: Your life is on the line! Do you want to die!?
Makoto: I don't really care.
Yukari: What...!?
Makoto: Is dying... really that scary of a thing?
Makoto: I guess this is... what people call "fun?"
Makoto: It's going to end soon, huh...
Makoto: Everything's going to disappear someday... You too, Aegis...
Fallos: Then we don't need anything from the beginning.
Makoto: You're wrong...!
Fallos: We don't want for anything.
Makoto: You're wrong...!! I won't run away from bonds!
Elizabeth: It's time to awaken.

The website lists the story:

"The time of destruction is coming ever closer without a doubt. It cannot be stopped."

To know death, to gaze at death, to face death.

Makoto and his allies have grown through the many meetings and partings they have experienced.

Their fight might not be for the sake of the world, but for themselves. Even so, they have continued to fight, believing that there are peaceful days waiting at the end of the battle.

However, a boy says that destruction is the fate that humanity must shoulder. The boy they believed to be their friend tells them the truth of the situation without an emotion on his face.

The season changes to winter. Makoto makes a decision in order to greet the spring that is waiting beyond....
