Defective Mario, Luigi Figures Disapprove

Candy company Furuta makes all kinds of tasty treats, including Choco Eggs. Similar to Canada's Kinder Surprise, Choco Eggs are a hollow candy shell with a toy inside. The toys are themed and are a tastier version of the popular blind box figures. One of the company's current Choco Egg series is a series of Super Mario figures to celebrate the franchise's 30th anniversary.

There are 13 different figures, including Tanuki Mario, Thwomp, Bomb, Yoshi, and other baddies. Two of the toys are Mario and Luigi giving an approving thumbs-up. Unfortunately, a few defective figures made their way out and these versions aren't as proud of your gaming prowess.

The Mario image was posted on Twitter by @SUPERMARIO_128. Another user asked if he rotated the figure's wrist to get the image, but SUPERMARIO_128 denied it, saying it was held firmly in place with adhesive.

Defective figures, especially Amiibo, have brought in major coin via online auction sites. A duel-wielding Samus sold for US$2,500 while other sellers have tried to cash in with three-armed Peach and two-headed Marth.

Bandai's S.H.Figuarts line is releasing Super Mario franchise characters from the King Koopa himself to Hammer Bro, Lakitu and Spiny.
