All Off single slated for February 10, Iguchi single slated for February 17

Rock band ALL OFF and and singer Yuka Iguchi both announced on Tuesday that they are performing the new opening and ending theme songs, respectively, for the Heavy Object television anime series.

ALL OFF's as-yet-untitled song will be the title track of their second single, which is slated for release on February 10. A limited edition of the single will include a DVD with a creditless version of the anime's opening animation. ALL OFF also contributed the anime's first opening theme.

Iguchi's as-yet-untitled song will be the title track of her sixth single, which is slated for release on February 17. In addition to the title track, the single will also contain another song, and the instrumental versions of both songs. A limited edition of the single will include a DVD with the song's music video, as well as a "making of" video.

The anime premiered in Japan on October 3, and Funimation is streaming the series as it airs in Japan. Funimation's broadcast dub of the series premiered on November 13.

Funimation describes the story:

In the future, warfare has been revolutionized by the invention of mechanical weapons called “Objects.” These Objects are overwhelmingly powerful, rendering traditional weapons like guns, tanks and fighter jets completely useless. Qwenthur is an un-athletic, but smart soldier who aims to work as an Object mechanic. Stationed at an Alaskan Object base, he meets Milinda, a stoic but beautiful Elite Soldier who pilots her own Object. As they learn to support each other in battle, Qwenthur begins to uncover the grim secret behind the Heavy Objects.

Takashi Watanabe (Shakugan no Shana, Freezing) is directing the anime at J.C. Staff (Toradora!, Kaichō wa Maid-sama!). Kazuma Kamachi (Toaru Majutsu no Index, Toaru Kagaku no Railgun) wrote the original story.
