More Details Revealed for Toukiden 2 Game's Open World Gameplay

Sequel to March 2014 action game slated for this year

Kadokawa's Famitsu.com website revealed an excerpt on Thursday from this week's Weekly Famitsu issue that highlights the features and combat of Koei Tecmo's upcoming Toukiden 2 action game.

Players will be able to explore an open world, where they will see the culture of the mononofu (called "slayers" in the English release of the original game) mixed with a medieval Japanese aesthetic. The game's combat system allows players to sever an enemy oni's limbs. The oni originate from another world that is slowly creeping into the world of the mononofu. Areas of the world will be covered with a miasma to limit player movement, but the world will slowly open up as the game progresses.

Koei Tecmo previously streamed a teaser for the game in September.

Koei Tecmo Games will release the game on the PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation Vita this year. Koei Tecmo Games' Omega Force subsidiary (Warriors/Musou series) is developing the game.

Koei Tecmo Games released Toukiden: Kiwami in North America in March 2014 for the PS4 and PS Vita. The game is an enhanced version of the original Toukiden: The Age of Demons game. The game then received a PC release via Steam last June.
