They're teasing this so much. Its hard to imagine that it ISN'T a thing already. the reveal teaser probably isn't too far out.

I see the "real" Godzilla fans haven't shown up yet, so let me be the first to say that a fight between Evas and Godzilla wouldn't be a "fight" at all. It would be a one-way massacre with Godzilla raeping everything in sight and then proceeding to level Tokyo-3 like he did Tokyo-1 and 2.

I mean look at that picture. Is Unit-01 trying to take down Godzilla with a puny progressive knife?! B|tch please! Godzilla's armored hide is practically as thick as that knife. Even if the knife could somehow pierce his hide any wound would be a flesh wound. Godzilla has survived a nuke much less a pinprick.

Conventional weapons don't work on A.T. fields but conventional weapons don't work on Godzilla either. Just ask the JSDF, they know what I'm talking about. Can an Eva survive nuclear breath? Maybe the first time, and that's a big "maybe". Godzilla's nuclear breath is like Raphiel's energy cannon so it's almost unblockable. The only way I see an Eva coming out on top is with a cheap shot to Godzilla's heart with the Lance of Longinus, but that's more the lance defeating Godzilla rather than the Eva. A giant crossbow or railgun to fire the lance would do the same thing.

Now maybe, just maybe, if Unit-01 fully awakened like at the end of 2.0 we might have a fight on our hands, but with Evas the pilot is also a factor, so I guess what it really comes down to is: Can Shinji "Mama's-Boy" Ikari defeat Godzilla?
I Can (Not) Believe.

Now if it was Godzilla, King Ghidorah, Mothra, Rhodan, and Mechagodzilla vs the Angels?
Now that's a fight I'd pay to see.

Jaegars, Kongs and Evas, let them fight each because Godzilla's on another level entirely. Even with that image, isn't more "Aww, look, they shrunk Godzilla again to make it a fairer fight. That's nice of them."

But his tail's too long again.

Yeah, if the the big G where to fight Evas at his full capacity, he would pretty much murder them horribly ( the radiation of the '54 version, The resillience of the 90's version and the pure badassery of the Final wars version would all spell doom for Tokyo-3). Still, a crossover would be fun to see, depending on who gets the most focus betwen Godzilla and the NERV characters.

Agreed. Versus matches like these are so stupid. One side always clearly has a bigger advantage than the other, and so the matchup itself seems invalid as a result. Let's not even get started on how fans of both sides will validate and invalidate the reasoning behind the versus pairing in the first place.
