Looks like Viz has this available digitally, so i think i'll pick this up Smile Sometimes it's nice to know a story is only 2 volumes, so it doesn't feel like i'm undertaking a huge commitment

I read the first chapter and I found it to be very cute! I'm gonna buy both volumes when they come out!

I think the next time I go to Barnes & Noble, I'll see if they have this book and flip through it a little bit to see if it's worth picking up as a blind-buy. Knowing that it's only 2 volumes definitely helps when it comes to collecting and shelf space, but also it's a small series to invest in if I choose to do so.

I really enjoyed this first volume. And, for me, while there is "romance", only felt like it was going one way (most of the time). Also got vibes that this may not necessarily end the way people think. Though, I hope I'm wrong on that part.

Art's good too. The mangaka mentions in the notes that it's her first comic. But, I won't if she means it's the first time she's done more than a one-shot comic or not. Because, to me, the art in this doesn't give me "first comic" vibes. Laughing

Yep, this was her first collected comic book (tankoubon). From around 2007-2010 she wrote several one-shots that were published in magazines (like the one at the end of v1), until she started Heiress in 2010. (info from my favourite, in-Japanese, sadly-no-longer-updated Hakusensha-manga info site.)

Short series aren't usually my preference: I like something a bit longer and more substantial so I can get invested in the characters. But I have a love for the Taisho setting (...it's the clothes really) and this little story is just right and so satisfying for what it's intended to be :) And the art is so shiny and pretty!
