Are they special "non-sucky" versions?

Seriously, if they're going to put out an edited, dub-only set, Sony should pay us to take them.

It's sad that anyone on "planet Earth" can enter but only those who live on the North American Continent will receive their prize. Crying or Very sad

No, you can receive your prize elsewhere, we just won't ship it elsewhere.

If you have a freind that can ship it for you, we can ship it to them.

You could always ask one of your US pals to donate their address, and then just have them ship it to you.

*sigh* I still can't believe I paid over $120/each for TWO of the four R2 DVD Astroboy box sets, and now Sony releases the WHOLE series in America for $50. ><

But if it's just the English track, I'm happy. The Japanese Season 2 OP is one of the best ever, and the music within the episodes are wonderful too.

Hmmm! Hadn't thought of that. I'll give it a try. Thanks for the tip. Wink

Not only that; the set is also pan and scan, and it's only the Kids' WB edit (not to mention the changed music). So it isn't even close to the "whole series."

Pan and Scan means the original source was 16x9, and they formatted it to 4:3 by cutting off the sides (you lose about 33% of total video real estate)

All I can say is that I'm not buying it, and I hope no one else does.

It's a piece of hackjob crap. The damnedest thing is that a decent uncut dub does exist, produced by the original Japanese company, but Sony won't release it in the U.S....

Actually that's probably a myth. The Japanese production team did dub a promotional clip into English and possibly the first episode as a way to showcase the show to English-speakers, but it would make no sense for them to dub the entire series on their own.
