Hmmm...can't say I pictured Todd as Keiichiro. I hope it doesn't put me off of watching the dub. I have struggled with dubs featuring Todd ever since I watched Claymore...god I hated Raki.

I enjoyed this first episode a lot more than I expected, and the dub sounded great (though I'm so enamored with Tabitha Ray's voice now that I immediately recognized her voice coming from the grandma). Caitlin Glass seems to be on roll lately! Smile

Also, is this Apphia Yu's first lead role? If so, it's about time! Wink

Todd's not going back and forth between Dallas and LA every week, he has his own studio at home

Dang! I just started watching this and already it's getting a dub?! Oh well. I like what I have seen of the show so far. I'll watch the dub after I finish the Japanese version. I just hope that Madoka's voice is better in English than it is in Japanese, because I am NOT fond of his Japanese voice.

Mike McFarland says that his studio is arguably better than what they have at Funimation. Though I did see a Youtube clip from this year where he was recording at Funimation so maybe he drops in every now and then.

Madoka's voice could have been hard to pull off, but I think Seth Magill actually did a pretty good job with it; the only other thing I've seen him in is Dance with Devils as a sadomasochistic demon, which...is different. He has a slightly different take on Madoka's voice (vaguely campy instead of vaguely childlike), so people who don't like Madoka's Japanese voice might find this one better. Of course, different takes can be divisive, so maybe big fans of the show won't like it. In any case, the actors seem to be having fun (which always makes for a good comedy dub) and it looks like a solid dub so far.

uh you know that was years ago when claymore was dubbed and he was more or less an unknown. sure i also cant see keichiro being voiced as todd either, but then again i said the same thing when they announced he was doing natsu and so far he's perfect for the role so its possible you might be surprised. and if you still struggling, just watch the dub version of fairy tail.it'll more or less prove you wrong in some point.
