afaik, the light novel will deviate from the webnovel pretty soon ; so I am particularly interested to see what happens with the reviews also after this point is when the webnovel starts getting really random with the arcs, with good arcs, bad arcs, good arcs with bad resolutions, etc... it was a fun ride.

I think this is a really nice take on the "summoned otaku" part, since they are otaku, they get familiar with teh game-like mechanics really fsat, which makes them strong, but that also makes them relatively socially inept (in contrast tolet's say, summoning a company owner or corporate wolf ) which is a plus when you want to manipulate them.

now a oneof the glaring problems with this novel is that it has a good amount of good characters, so a lot of times they end up underused, but at least they0ll keep on swapping that.

lol, who is Izumi?(1st paragraph line 3)

On a serious note, i don't see how cuteness was really injected in this by fitoria or filo considering the fight they had and the information fitoria gave noafumi. she was there for as long as she needed to be then left. Her threat and the extra chapter at the end showed that she does have alot on her mind.

i do believe the other two hero's could have gotten more screen time tho, it kinda felt like they chimed in at the end just to make sure the readers didn't forget they were there.

The light novel already deviated significantly from the web novel. Originally, Fitoria didn't explain anything due to some arbitrary rule about not talking to people. Story spent ages just figuring out the stuff she could have just told them. No, the difference is that it explores more of the stuff and characters that were ignored until the end of the web novel or that the author forgot to explain. It's already been doing that though. We're learning a lot more about Raphtalia and her past than we did in the web novel and it'll continue in that vein.

it isn't so much that they are summoned otaku that's the problem. It's a mix of wrong genre savyness and, most importantly, the way the excessively prioritize their own simple desires while putting them on display. Motoyasu came in telling everyone he wanted to be a harem hero who sleeps with all of the girls. Ren is dead set on becoming Kirito and bow-brat would let countries fall to ruin if it lets him play the hero. They are intentionally acting out a character type and sometimes ignore things that a normal human being shouldn't so that they could act out that role. It's more of a criticism of the dumb things otaku want and how that would really work out.

@ultimatehaki

I think the reviewer was just disappointed at how other's were responding to Fitoria (Melty melting over her and Filo's jealously). It made them look more childish and cute. The thing is, that's mostly appropriate. Filo is suppose to be Naofumi's innocent little daughter that calms him after a hard day's bullsh*t. For Melty, she's suppose to be jumping back and forth between realizing the weight and purpose of her role as heir and becoming more honest with her feelings. It's becoming less about her acting out a princess and actually being one. Though your mileage may very on hysteric lolis.

oh yea i forgot about those interactions. I have to agree with you that it was appropriate tho considering filo is only 2 months old (which the reviewer may be overlooking) so she doesn't understand or know how to control her own emotions and melty is a child finally breaking out of her public shell and her obsessiveness of filorials have been know since she was introduced. So all that was character development as far as i can see.

You're right, I completely forgot Filo's age - I think I got confused because Raphtalia appears to mature with her level increases emotionally as well as physically, while Filo remains more or less at her actual age. I would like some more explanation as to the differences between how fililolal queens and demi-humans mature, since it's obviously not the same and tripped me up this time.

the manga and the light novel all decviate from the webnovel, but considering the concept of the sequel series, that's nto such a bad thing.

Sequel series? Didn't know this one had one, or at least neither bakaupdates nor Wikipedia mentions one, only that this one is still ongoing?...
