| I can't believe this, they actually going to make an English Dub, but will the DVD only going be available in the U.K.?
It wouldn’t make sense if they decide not to bring it over here!!! |

| You'll need an R2 DVD player if you want to import this. | ||||

This might be useful http://www.dvd.reviewer.co.uk/ It's a UK site but covers Region 1 as well. Good luck. BTW Oshii doesn't want you to understand it, just wants you to buy it. |

Do you not know that, if the company does not have a license to distribute in the US, they can't? Companies gain license to distribute in certain parts of the world and, many times, an anime is sold to different companies that cover different parts of the world. So, they can't release it in the US. It has to be an import. I've often wondered why American, British, and Australian companies didn't work together to translate and dub to save cost. Maybe this will start that. |

Its a shame that GITS 2: Innocence didn't get higher reviews...I guess when everyone is used a movies like The Pacifer thats to be expected. |

| Well doing an english dub is ok if that's what you want but I think the film is just fine without it. Actually I was pleasently surprised when Dreamworks released it without a dub. I also think the american voice actor who plays Batou is not nearly as good as the japanese actor. |

| I have to point out something, the way the news is worded makes it sound as if the UK/Aus release of Stand Alone Complex has a different dub. It doesnt, its the same as the US release.
So the GITS 2 dub will feature returning actors as nessacery from SAC. |

Which is the same cast as the first movie's dub except for Motoko, correct? |

No, several of the dub actors are different from the original film to SAC. While I can't name them all of the top of my head, the most notable one IMO is that Christopher Joyce did Togusa for the original film and Crispin Freeman does the voice in SAC. Personally, Crispin does a much more memorable job as Togusa and with that characters part being bigger in the second GitS movie, I'd much rather hear Crispin do it Ghost in the Shell Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex Now I'll be curious to see what Dreamworks reaction is to this. My guess is that Dreamworks will decides to put a "Special Edition" of Innocence out in a year or so (maybe sooner) with the dub but you never know when it comes to Dreamworks. |

ADV couldn't even operate two studios in the same state to reduce costs. I don't think international co-operation will increase unless the dubbing industry grows enormously. |

Oh I so hope that you are right with that, this would be great!!! If they are really going to do an English DUB, I'd say it is only a matter of time until we get it over here as well, it would be so ridiculous if not. However, I think it wouldn't hurt if people who haven't voiced their opinion yet, to head over to the Dreamworks Messageboards and let them know what we really want: http://www.dreamworksfansite.com/ |
