Pretty sure the source article says October 26 of next year and it's all entirely rumored at this point based on something somebody on twitter claims to have seen at a movie premiere. Yep that's the source of this whole article on Yaraon, some girl with 27 followers and 191 tweets ever's twitter post. I think I actually have more activity on my long since defunct twitter account that I only ran for about a month. Not to say it's not true, but the source on this is far from official yet. Still think it's pretty questionable journalism scrapping click bait Matome Blog sites like Yaraon for second hand twitter rumors and repeating it as de facto confirmed news. Does a real disservice to readers and is kind of dishonest journalism. Like if anything at least tell people the true nature of the source and it's level of official status or lack thereof if you're going to report something like this.

Oh and there was a second source also from some random twitter account but that tweet has already been deleted so yeah figure that one out folks.

ANN sent one of our news editors to go see the screening, so all the information we have is confirmed based on the staff member who actually went to a screening of the film. We did, however, realize there might be possible news at the screening based on the Yaraon post, so we did give the site credit as being the post that brought it to our attention.

To avoid confusion, however, I have added wording to the article that indicates that ANN confirmed the news firsthand.

Well, if this is true this is great news! I love Zaregoto so much and it's in great hands with SHAFT. So looking forward to this! Don't even mind that it's just an OVA

I hope it works well. It being an OVA makes me worried about the pace, as I can't really imagine the first volume being adapted in 20~40 minutes without losing a big chunk of it or going way too fast.

I honestly think that volume 1 is fine with 45 minute ova. I think the story is quite simple and seems like it'll look fine fast-paced. Volume 2, though, there are intersting details and events, so if possible I want it to be longer and take its time to build the also interesting characters relationship.

That aside, it seems that SHAFT got quite a number of project lately, the 2 cours Sangatsu no Lion, this, the planned Madoka sequel, and if I remember correctly a Fate/ adaptation too (and probably preparing for more monogatari too, or could it be that they're still in post-production for the last Kizu movie?), so I hope they won't sacrifice the quality (kinda remember that time when SHAFT got Nisekoi and Mekakucity Actors in the same season and one of them, if not both, looked not so tended well as when they can do better in Bakemonogatari, I suppose the studio is not the kind of A-1 or Sunrise).

This is my biggest fear with Shaft - they are a great studio...when they are paying attention. Sangatsu no lion probably won't require too much animation budget since it looks like they are going for a simpler style - I really hope that goes well since they author asked for Shaft specifically. I don't know anything about the Madoka sequel - that series should really be done by now and I would prefer they stop dragging it on. No idea about Fate but I never liked that series...still a low quality anime is good for no one. Kizu is released Dec 9th so post production shouldn't really affect their other series. I don't see any more Monogatari on the horizon with this packed schedule, Otherwise it will end up like Owarimonogatari which, for being a pretty interesting part of the series, was pretty poorly animated.
