note that there's a separate ranking for Japanese and foreign films. I'm assuming that the latter dominate.

Interesting to see that some of the 2chan ascii art has been incorporated (but then again, they could hardly omit it
 ). There's a 'Mona' on the site and the on-hand-and-knees ascii figure seen in the text messages is mimicked by the main character. I'm really looking forward to this one! Could be an interesting otaku-life film to complement the current anime music acceptance campaign run by 2chan.

The first chart on the Eiga site is the North American box office. The numbers we gave are for the combined Japanese box office. American movies did figure in the top ten, but did not dominate. -t |

Awesome! Now when's the 4chan-based movie coming out? I can't wait to see the dynamic duo of Sageman and C***mongler take on the dreaded menace of Pedobear! They'd get my 8 bucks!

Well happy negro kinda has a few films out...
Anyway, that there is a movie based on a story from 2chan is amazing. I remember hearing it before, but to see the trailer, that is something. Kinda sad looking though, even as an anime fan. Then agin sure looks better than that MTV backed geek freakshow Napoleon Dynamite. -Xenos |

whoops! thanks for the correction. Can someone briefly explain to me what Channel 2 (2chan?) is-- a big Japanese otaku message board? What's its connection to 4chan (the english language board that I can't believe wasn't raided by the cops years ago)? Is there a 3chan? Is there any more info (in English, preferably) on the Trainman story, outside of the previous ANN posts? Thanks- |
