Well the buddy system was a brilliant idea to bring people into wanting to do more than just walk and start running since with some Pokémon you need 5km to just get one candy. Gotta admit that is smart to bring people health.

But again. Thus is no complete game yet. Where's trading and pvp? That's the most basic part of any Pokémon game other than catching Pokémon. It will bring people together.

" hey sir, I happened to see that you play Pokémon go, could it be that you have a snorlax? "
" ah yes I have five of them, wanna trade? "

" sure! Let's be friends! "

And thus, Pokémon go doesn't just restore health in lazy people but also restores social contacts, thus destroying Facebook.

Completely missed opportunity so far. The hype has died down because if these missing functions.

If there were a pedometer function, I'd take it with me to the gym. As is, it'll just be regular old music for me.

What's made me want to hit the gym more is just to deal with some of the jerks I come across while playing the game. It's always fun when you're wiping out a gym and someone from that team ushers out a stream of profanities because you've just wiped out their Pokémon. That sort of behavior only inspires me to target every gym they're at to just wipe them out. And, seeing how I work right by a Pokestop, it doesn't take me too long to restock with battle supplies.

I think the claim that this game could possibly increase the average lifespan is a bit too presumptuous to make. While it's great that, in the three months or so that this game has been active, people who play it are, overall, more physically active, that doesn't make up for the estimated 33 years that they might not have been as active. Nor does that take into account that said player will be playing Pokémon Go in 2050. Physical activity is something that you have to do daily in order for it to be effective. I would like to hope that this game inspires people to continue to be physically active, however, with the winter season fast approaching, walking might be very difficult when you're snowed in.

That's to be expected when people play Pokémon Go everyday.

The majority of the survey was from 30-something fat Americans. I wonder how how many of those actually had jobs.

Aside for the games like Snap, Mystery Dungeon, etc where you don't trade or battle with other people or catch pokemon.

WOW, you sure are rude. I'm in that age bracket (almost 28), I play Pokémon Go, AND I have a full time job. Stop stereotyping people.

Notice I said in the survey. Surveys often exaggerate to a higher population.

Am I in the minority for having rarely ever seen any Pokémon players not part of the already existing fandom who is interested in battle? Almost everyone I've met who has played Pokémon and doesn't identify themselves as fans are only interested in filling out their Pokédex, and thus trading is the only player-to-player aspect they're interested in.

Admittedly, I was pretty confused by your referring to a "gym" as in a place to exercise and "gym" as in a place where Pokémon battles are held in the same statement.
