The Japan Animator Expo is proving very good for creating original TV shows.

I wonder if Megumi Hayashibara and Koichi Yamadera are returning from the original short to voice their characters? I absolutely love them both. Two of THE BEST Japanese VA'S working in the industry.

I remember watching this short and I liked it. Far from the best though.

Who was that paragraph aimed at? It reads like a pitch.

If they ever continue making more of these shorts, I do hope we'll see more of the self-contained shorts like "Bubu & Bubulina" and that one where the woman becomes a cockroach. I don't like the ones that look like they're trying to be a full series. They feel like they're begging.

That's certainly an interesting premise.

Keep in mind that each of those teeth is about half the size of a skyscraper. Just imagine the size of that open mouth!

I really liked the original short, but one of my only problems was that it seemed like just a taste of a bigger story. This seems to be giving us that bigger story, so I'm psyched about this one. And the PV looks good! I'm definitely looking forward to this one. The question is, will it stream anywhere outside of Japan?

Certainly a short I wanted to see more of.

Every year or two we seem to pull from the Expo for full shows, and this has only been a great boon to get new ideas in.

As far as I know they are all self contained, they just decide to build upon them.

It's exciting to see Khara doing their first television project, and I'm definitely looking forward to this. The original short will surely lend itself well to a much extended running time. There are plenty of other choice cuts from the JAE that I would love to see receive full length adaptions in addition to this in the future as well.

Stuff like Rapid Rouge, Gridman, and Iconic Field come off to me like trailers, since they only ever show the premise and its characters in a small conflict. They feel incomplete to me.

Stuff like Bureau of Proto Society, Kanón, and Yamadeloid feel like their stories are complete, and they've told everything they wanted to tell. Similarly, stuff like Sex and Violence with Machspeed and Cassette Girl feel like they've told what they've wanted to but there's potential for more.

Maybe it's just me though.

For the record, I'd categorize Dragon Dentist as somewhere in between. The story doesn't feel complete, but intentionally so. Like, as in you see this girl cleaning the dragon's teeth, and once she's done, the short is over. There is plenty of things not known about its world, why they do it, or who she is, but my impression was that they were interested only in showing you her adventure in the dragon's mouth.

I've gotta admit, this one has a weird title. "Dragon Dentist?" If it were made in this country,it would feature a dragon that was a dentist. How odd would that be? Still, the premise sounds pretty good. Hope to see it here soon.

Anyone is automatically made cooler if they're actually a dragon. A certain western animated TV show just had a tsundere dragon princess, and I'm seeing a bunch of fanart of her on DeviantArt.
