So what about that Paranoia Agent episode, then? Were they squeemish about sex before or after that?
More on-topic, they're getting really good about keeping most of the episodes intact. |

After watching these past few episodes, I firmly believe Adult Swim isn't squeamish about sex itself - it's nudity that they have a problem with. Specifically, nudity that shows nipples on living, breathing human females. Not robots, not statues, but live human females. |

agreed......but question....did anyone catch that guard (a goony i'm not too sure what u'd call him,a/w) saying 'bullshit.' you might think it was from a different ep. but i remember it because i was jumping up and down saying 'haha they missed that one'

I agree. They allowed sexual scenes as far back as FLCL in 2003, if memory serves me right. As long as there are no nipples, they seem to be fine with whatever happens. |

While we're on the subject did anyone happen to catch a scene in this weeks paranoia agent where the paranoid cop was in a room with a girl who from the back appeared to be topless, but in her reflection in the mirror she was clothed? It was only a split second so it's possible im wrong but I cought it and it seemed a little odd to me.

So what is their status on the undead, ghosts, and demons. Anyone think they can sell the censors that "Its ok... vampires aren't breathing." or "Look at those ears she's obivously elven (not human)." Idk... they have let alot more go as far as victums are concerned... maybe adult swim is pro-necrophilia... lol you can only have sex if you kill her first. So, I'm guessing that the edit list is only for Adult Swim, not for the DVD's, is that correct? I wanted to make sure, since it seems like my Kare Kano dvd's have been edited by Right Stuf. (ep 18, you know what I'm talking about)

I don't remember which episode #18 is...If it's the one where spoiler[Yukino and Armia make love] then I must have seen the same version of that ep. It was a little (but only a little) more graphic in the manga. |

Regarding Kare Kano ep 18, this link might explain things: SPOILER ALERT http://www.animeprime.com/reports/kano.shtml If this information is correct, then ep 18 was not edited by Right Stuf. The Edit List is only for TV broadcasts, as compared to the US DVDs. The point is to show what the broadcasters edit. TRSI did not edit Kare Kano. They received the TV version from the licensors and put on DVD exactly what they were given. When the Japanese DVDs were released, that scene was re-added in as it had been edited out for the TV release. The result unfortunately is the same, there's a "more complete" version out there that you don't own on DVD. No one should scream at TRSI for editing the show, but they do still bear some blame for not making sure that they had the most complete version. -t |

Ahh, it's a good thing I kept the fansubs, otherwise I wouldn't have known what I was missing. Thanks for everyone filling me in on that.

Japan may not have wanted TRSI to have it either. Then the Japanese would be importing our cheaper DVDs. |
