What's with all these manga creators having health issues? Does the industry take that much of a toll on the human body?

80+ hours a week hunched over a desk, sleeping 5 hours a night, if lucky.

Bad posture (leading to back and neck problems), drawing for hours and hours with finicky dip pens (hand and wrist problems), stress (everything else).

It won't end. Ashihara has had breaks before, in fact he usually takes 1 week breaks, now he'll rest for more time.
