Last week we saw Rebecca and the flower field looking especially pretty, with the colors and lighting really being on their A game.

I noticed that, too. Made me think they changed the visuals a little. Anyway, nice review.

Cool to see One Piece getting a weekly review.

I find it humorous that the front page description for this review says "heralds the coming conclusion of the Dressrosa arc" ...yup...conclusion...right...

I love the arc the execution has been nearly flawless (Rebbecca kinda gets the shaft as the arc goes on but that's a discussion for another time) but i just want it to end...I want something new!

Wow, OP joins the streaming reviews! Maybe next we can see Fairy Tail join the lineup?

This would be my dream come true, my two favorite shows getting reviewed would be so cool...especially with where Fairy Tail is about to go in the anime...UGH so good

Nice to see another series added to the line up. Can we get Diamond no Ace next? (aka the Ace of Underrated anime) Series is [expletive] godly. Madhouse x Production I.G. is just as good as it sounds

Ace of the Diamond is absolutely great, but animation-wise it is basically a motion comic.

Not a hope! The animation is incredible. Some episodes are as good looking as HxH 2011, and i will admit some episodes do look like they are from a Toei ova. But season 2 so far has looked rather incredible. We gotta think this is a long running series, and when you compare it to the others, its the closest one to the quality of HxH 2011 when it was on its long run

Like the article said the animation was of a lot higher quality this episode. I hope they can keep it up. At least for some of the more memorable scenes.

Yes! An unexpected One Piece Daily Streaming Review (DSR). C'mon, ANN, Fairy Tail and Dragon Ball are still up for grabs. Smile

Even if the show's plot is going at a slower rate, Oda's world and the "background noise" still carry enough weight (content-wise) to keep being enjoyable. Yes, there were occasional drops in the animation quality, but nothing low enough to pull me away from the scene.

Have we been watching the same show? The show does have a few almost-still-frames, but they are used anecdotally, and the rest of the animation frames are mostly smooth.

This was a neat episode, in part because it maintained focus on Luffy's group the entire time instead of skipping from subplot to subplot. And I love the cliffhanger, with Sugar coming back. Anyone else think that Sugar's power is the scariest one in the entire series?

That said, I was disappointed with the core of the episode, namely the way Rebecca was written. Suddenly the show forgets that she's an experienced fighter who has won more consecutive matches than any current gladiator, and is so skillful that she did it with a blunt sword, all while refusing to use direct attacks. But in this installment, she just freaks out and runs away from Diamante until Kyros comes to save her. I'm not saying she would crush him, but she should at least be able to hold her own.

I was really hoping for a cool father/daughter team up fight, or maybe for Kyros to get to see the results of all the training he put her through when he was "Soldier-San." Maybe that can still happen later on, but I was let down to see Rebecca diminished like this.

But didn't they already establish during the final battle at the Colosseum that Rebecca really was no match for people like Diamante? She had already come up against him in that setting and others who could hold their own against him and she realized she really stood no chance.

Oda is a great writer, but Rebeca has been a character he's clearly struggles to understand what to do with. She gets hyped up at the start, but as the arc goes on she almost vanishes into obscurity and struggles to find a place in the actual plot.

A good amount of people don't like Rebecca, she's just so misused and her outfit isn't helping matters with the fandom (but i think there's a logic behind the reason her chain mail is so reveling)

While I don't really watch the anime for One Piece as I'm too spoiled by seasonal anime pacing and kinda just prefer reading the manga, nice to see it on the review lineup for those who want to see it. I'll give this episode a watch when I get the chance to see if it really looks as good as you say but otherwise while we may be near the end of the arc there's still quite a ways away to go til it ends in the anime.
