Welp, here we go again! I'm glad Studio David is sticking to their guns at least. I mean it with no weird intention when I say it's nice to see 90's anime tropes staying alive in Diamond is Unbreakable; even not censoring adolescent boys.

While I am pretty against censorship, I don't think it's a good idea to have a young boy going around naked like that without that mosaic bar. That said, sometimes people are too easily offended.

The BPO are the ones sexualizing the boy...the context was not sexual

Gosh, it was just Dragon Ball Goku-kind of genitals, nothing gross obscene or sexual.
The mosaic bar would have been simply ridiculous and would have focused the attention more on the genitals.

Yes, I'm sure whoever drew that circle and little curve on top had to go through hours of research to find out how a middle schooler's penis looks like.
Jesus.

The BPO isn't doing anything other than publishing complaints from viewers.

I admit that the underlying current of sexual assault is one of the few things that dampens JJBA for me. Anne/Runaway Girl was nearly assaulted by the orangutan, Alessi is definitely a child abuser, if not a child molester, D'Angelo explicitly sexually assaults and murders young boys, and even if Kira was only trying to obtain the videotape from Hayato, that scene is deliberately framed as uncomfortable and claustrophobic. I know as a drama/horror series, it's an easy way to invoke trauma (and make the hero look heroic for stepping in and defending the child), but I wish Araki didn't rely on it so much.

Anyone remember that episode of The Simpsons, which Ned Flanders (who was a jerk in the 2000's seasons, hence the trope "Flanderization") was shifting through every single offensive show on TV, and anything that was not G-rated.

Yeah, I bet that's the Japanese counterpart right there sending in these complaints.

Gee, you think they'd be OLD enough to remember Gokuu and Tetsuro in the bathtubs...

(And the fight scene's not like the UY episode where the guys are in a bathhouse, and a free-for-all erupts with trying to peek over at the girls' side, while Ryoko Mendou's kuroko helpfully provide the "censorship" by holding up big black signs in the right places.)

As someone whose main anime viewing this year consisted of JoJo, I was expecting someone to complain about Hayato's "boyhood" sooner or later.
