This article is loads of interesting. Look at all those names. The era of short light novel names are almost over. Laughing
I should write a light novel titled "I Saw That Light Novel Names were too long, And I tried to Shorten mine but it became long as well and also, I got Reincarnated into a game character".

Also, what's with all these "teleported or stuck in another game world" scenarios? I guess it's an interesting topic among light novels in japan.

This should 100% be translated as "Comrade," especially since the kanji are 同志 instead of 同士. Both are pronounced doushi, but the former has more of the implication of "Comrade" to a revolutionary socialist/Communist.

Nah, it says ビッチ which is a sort of false friend loanword that shades a little more towards "slut" than English "bitch," though it overlaps both, but doesn't have the female dog meaning. OTOH, Japanese does use 雌犬 ("female dog") with the same sort of negative connotations towards women as "bitch" in English (though perhaps a bit stronger than contemporary English use), even though 雌豚 ("sow; female pig") is slightly more common for the offensive term.

"Ordinary person gets transported to another world where they are special and have an adventure" is classic escapism/wish fulfilment. The "video game world" detail is down to A) Japanese audiences tending to think of fantasy worlds with video game mechanics because the fantasy fiction they're most familiar with is video games, and B) a whole bunch of light novel authors not being terribly imaginative.

It's actually such an oversaturated genre that these days the only ones that really stand out are ones that either mock the concept (KonoSuba) or deconstruct it to show how much it would actually suck to be in (Re: Zero).

I'm more curious what "I'm a Hero, But I Started a Pizzeria in a Fantasy World with My Elf Bride" is like.

I'm starting to believe these light novel authors are giving these long names just to trigger people.

This will be my light novel title.

It's like, OreImo is likely to be blamed for making LNs with long titles a trend more than I thought.

Just saying
