Threatening to kill someone who didn't respond...who could blame her for not conversing with someone who has homocidal tendencies?

Another stupid little Japanese man making an ass of himself by threatening to kill a celebrity who simply didn't reply to him online. Talk about triggered.

Jeez. I hope Mizuki is okay. She must have been scared. This is one reason I don't use Twitter.

It's obsessive nutty-idol fans like this on social media that isn't helping the current otaku-demonization:
Lately, whenever we see hikkikomori depicted with stereotypic social-blame glee in anime comedy--as anyone who owns a desktop computer clearly uses it to live a sheltered Internet/MMORPG lifestyle, rather than use a cellphone like normal people--we not only get the socially responsible jokes about "Work is for losers!" and "I have all my comforts nearby!" but also "I enjoy picking fights with celebrities on my chats, that'll show 'em!"

...Yes, Their Fans Aren't Our Fans, but it's really just not helping anyone.

(Now, me, I've been following Joshua Wakely's page, and Tweeting back good-for-you every time he tells us of his latest award for Netflix's Beat Bugs, but does HE ever Like or respond? And do I go into stalker mode over it?
It's just Twitter, you're LUCKY if celebrities remember to keep up with their pages.)

What is wrong with this man?
Your idol doesn't reply or doesn't want to meet you and your response is wanting to kill her?! Mad
Lock him up so he won't harm anyone.

Why didn't he think to kill himself? Always to do harm to other people.

He probably has some kind of mental/social issues - I mean who else would do such a thing and then readily admit to it. I doubt that's uncommon im hardcore otaku cirkles. Anyway, I hope she's okay.

Ever notice we never get articles from Japan about adult anime fans/otaku doing good things? Looks like the societal shame of being an adult otaku in Japan is still running strong.

This is the second death threat she's gotten? Why do her fans want to kill her? oO

Also, "obstructing business"? Is it not against the law to threaten to kill people? "...interfering with the business activities of Mizuki's fan club management"? So it's not even about her? Wtf?

(clearly, I have questions.)

It's never simple being an idol...particularly when your popularity is at celebrity levels like that of Nana...

In any case, thank goodness the police apprehended the offender before he made good on his threat. Here's hoping he'll get the psychological help he needs...while spending some time in the slammer.

Why is it that the police always charge criminals like this for "obstructing business" & not for death threats & stalking?

actually that's the reason why the police should investigate, the death threats could be empty threat

I really don't like how this makes people feel unsafe - the fans of Japanese artists that I know of are friendly and do not wish to show themselves up (especially in front of the artists) to be inconsiderate or selfish.

This is the kind of fandom that Nana Mizuki fans know and love (Pop Master PV on King Records' Youtube channel):

I've only been to one of the 2015 Nana Mizuki fan events, a bit more low key but still a thoroughly enjoyable time at Nippon Budoukan:

PS, like most Nana Mizuki fans I haven't meet her.
