Crunchyroll better have this as well, I don't want to deal with Funimation's failure of a website. From what I've seen, their new subtitles are closed captions with dark boxes covering things up, how can they fail on such a fundamental level?

Because It's FUNimation, the company that always seems to put out a subpar product whenever their streaming service is involved.

I wouldn't mind resubscribing, but with the way the website and apps are at the moment (like you said) I'm really on the fence about it. If they can somehow in the next month make it so their website and apps aren't utter shit I might just consider it.

^ I don't usually watch their stuff on the website itself, but when I do, I always use Google Chrome. It's not great, but it works. Mainly though, I use the PlayStation 3 app and watch their anime on my TV. That's the best solution for me.

Also, here's the Simuldub trailer for those who can't watch the video for whatever reason:

I really feel like im reading this wrong cause how are they able to do this.I know that back when space dandy was airing on adultswim earlier then japan and they also aired the first akiba's trip episode before japan but thats just an individual episodes, their liturally talking about bieng a full 5 episodes ahead of japan and that just bafles me.

^They aren't saying that the first six episodes will stream on April 1, just that the first six dubbed episodes will stream on the same day as the subbed version comes out when they do, beginning with the first on April 1

Yep, and they're making no promises past that because the Japanese production schedule will inevitably slip and eat through the slack that allows FUNimation to get the dub out on the same day.

Cool. I suppose the next evolution of Funimation simuldubs is to have them available hours after the Japanese premier; I hope to see more cases like this one going forward. I imagine they will do something similar with Attack on Titan S2.

It is starting to look like a title exclusive to Funimation.

I am pretty sure you are correct, but the language in the article is a bit confusing. Though, I would not be shocked if all those six dubbed episodes were available the day of the Japanese premier. After all, didn't Funimation pay a shit load of money for My Hero Academia?

Yes! My Hero Academia was one of my favorite series of 2016 and the Funimation dub was spectacular so I am definitely looking forward to seeing this. Very Happy

So happy to hear this! I love the dub and was praying that I wouldn't have to wait long for Season 2's. To have the first six dub episodes come out alongside the subbed ones? That just made my day.

I do find it strange that it's only the first six though. I guess they're just playing it safe and those are the only episodes they know they're going to get in time to simuldub.

Damn Bones must have an incredible production schedule for this season if they can guarantee that 6 episodes will be complete weeks before they air (since it takes about 1-2 weeks for an episode to get dubbed).

The site and Windows 10 handle subs on a user setting level. You can turn those off by changing the site and windows 10 subtitle options.

Currently for me, the "None/Transparent" is broken(what something broken on the new site? No way). Currently Windows 10 is a bigger issue, Close Captions doesn't support subtitles with shading, as it wasn't meant to be used this way. So if you try and watch any of their shows that support soft subs, the subtitles tend to blend into the video. Which make them impossible to read most times.

I submitted a ticket for both of those issues 2 weeks ago, I'm still waiting for a response.

Fixed the wording there while I was at it. Hopefully that clears it up.
